The ME550 CR80 Data Matrix embosses both standard alphanumeric characters and 2D Data Matrix barcodes onto aluminum and stainless steel tags in the fixed CR80 card format — 85.6mm x 54mm (3.37" x 2.13"), the same size used for ID cards and badges. Adding Data Matrix marking to that fixed footprint means a permanent, scannable barcode fits neatly alongside standard text, without needing custom sizing.
The 2D Data Matrix format packs a high volume of data into a small space, useful for permanent asset tags, ID plates, or badge-paired hardware where a scannable record needs to travel with a fixed-size card. Marking uses the 3mm Simplex 2 embossing font as standard for the alphanumeric portion.
Built portable and self-contained like the rest of the ME550 line, it runs on the same 7" WVGA touchscreen platform with IoT remote access and management over the web or VNC, plus USB, Ethernet, and WiFi connectivity for integration into any existing factory or office network.
